Can I disconnect a computer that is connected to a linksys router?

Is it possible for me to disconnect a computer that is physically attached to a linksys router without actually disconnecting the cat5 cable? i am the admin so i have the password for the router. i know how to kick off wireless connections, but is it possible to do this to a wired connection?

any help is appreciated!|||Yes, MAC filtering surely do the trick. Just enter the MAC address of that machine and block it. Think most of the router comes with MAC filtering.

Cheers!|||You Should be able to block by MAC Address of the computer that needs to be blocked. I was going to say it can be blocked by the ip address but, the only thing is that the ip address can change over time if the DHCP is enabled.

I hope that u can do this with the linksys router.

I know i can with my belkin router.........|||Only if it has inbuilt mac filtering for the hard wired machines as well as wireless.|||Just disconnect the computer and leave the Cat5 cable alone without any connection. Linksys router is smart enough to pick up the disconnection without the need of any reconfiguration. Should this have caused any interruption to the network, just reset the router by switching off and on the router.
