when i try to go to 192.168.1.1 for the linksys router setup page it, it brings up the box where you put admin as the password, then it says i am not authorized to view the website or the rompager service is protected...any ideas how to get onto the site/???/.|||The IP address 192.168.1.1 is the address that your PC uses to talk to your router. It should have a default password that came with your instructions.
If the password was setup by someone else, you will have to reset the password. Call linksys for instructions for resetting your password.|||Read your documentation, or goto linksys' website (from a friend's computer if need be) look up support for your model # and there are instructions for resetting the password.|||You should check your documentation to see the proper procedure and look in the troubleshooting as well. If all else fails, there should be a small reset button on the back of the router. It'll be in a small hole, just press that and wait for the lights to stop blinking. That should reset your router to the factory defaults. And if that doesn't work, try to exchange it at the retailer.|||The reset button restores all factory defaults EXCEPT the admin password. To reset that also, you must hold down the reset button for 30 seconds.|||ya my belkin does that once in awhile
do you have a password set?
just reset modem
id unplug it then reset it|||for a linksys router the admin password is usually admin if you have changed your password according to linksys even a reset will not reset your changed password, i suggest a memory or a pencil and paper next time.
