How do you set a password for your linksys router? Also how to set it back to default settings?

I need to add a password to my linksys router. I know you have to type http://192.168.1.1 into the address but i dont know my username and password. When i only type admin into the password it doesnt work. People said i need to set my router back to default settings but i dont know how to. Any help? thanks!|||Got Internet?
