Can I make my linksys router invisible to others?

I have a linksys router and don't want strangers or neighbors to be able to even see it's there.. Do you know how I can fix this problem|||Yes.


Open IE and type in 192.168.0.1





Type in your user name and password.





There should be an option to disable the SSID.


Once you do that it should be only visible to your computer.|||Yes, you would need to disable broadcasting the SSID.





This would ether make the wireless network not shown or labeled as unknown wireless network. They would have to know the SSID in order to use the router.





Granted it is actually better to use WPA and MAC Address filtering.
