Is there a way to turn my Linksys router into a wireless adapter?

I've read somewhere a while back where this guy turned his Linksys wireless router (WRT54G or something like that) into a wireless adapter and using that to go on the Internet.

Is this possible?

I hate having to shell out money for a wireless adapter for my desktop PC and was wondering if this was possible.|||Yes. The router would have to support third party firmware and you set the operating mode from access point to client or client bridge. You would have to still have a wireless access point to connect to.|||Almost all wireless routers also have ethernet ports. Your desktop PC likely already has an ethernet port, so you can connect to the router with a cable.
