How to connect a linksys wireless router to my adsl modem?

I followed the steps given by the installation CD and the installation prompted that error with router connection





I have both the linksys router and DSL modem ON





I am able to connect to the internet but the setup wizard failed saying error in router connection





By the way my brother has a pentium 4 assembled PC


How do I establish a wireless connection with it|||have you got the DSL modem connected to the internet port of the linksys router ?





Also how does the DSL modem connect to your PC if you connected it directly with regards to ip addressing , does it use DHCP ie it assigns an ip address automatically or do you have to assign your computer a static ip address along with subnet mask, default gateway and DNS ?





The above will determine how you configure your linksys router and instead of using the cd to configure your linksys router use the ip address of the router via a web browser to access the config page of the linksys router and configure it through the web browser with regards to wireless, wireless security and the routers setup config.





drop me a message if you need more help or give linksys a call.|||forget the installer program. Use the web based interface described in the manual. uninstall all the router software. You would be better off using a dsl router, this would replace the existing modem and remove many of the problems.
